About Us

Throttle Out exists to celebrate driving, riding and the lifestyle surrounding these activities. There are so many sub-segments within car/bike culture—whether you’re all about engine builds, stance, detailing, drifting, rare parts, go-fast parts, cruise nights or spec racing, from car shows to track days, we think the one thing we can agree on is that it’s more than just a machine. And all the time, money and sweat is worth it when you get behind the wheel.

What does Throttle Out mean?

Throttle Out is a philosophical approach to life, stemming from the idiom “When in doubt, throttle out.” When life gives you trouble, the best response is to keep going forward and push even harder—throttle out.

But there’s a literal truth to this idiom, rooted in driving and riding.

When you’re mid corner and start to lose control, giving more throttle can introduce on-throttle over-steer, helping the car or bike rotate the right direction and helping you get through the corner in one piece. This is throttling out.

When you have to turn or swerve unexpectedly and start to lose control, taking your foot off the gas can make things worse and cause you to spin out completely. Instead, keeping your foot on the throttle can help keep your momentum going the right direction and help push you out of a slide until you regain control. Get it?

This Throttle Out principle is so important because it has to become instinct—when you start to lose control, you don’t have time for a considered response, you just need to react. Whether it’s while driving or elsewhere in life, knowing when to Throttle Out is critical.

If heavy philosophy or technical theory doesn’t do it for you, there’s a lighter side to this as well.

For many, driving or riding is a stress relieving activity. When you’ve had a bad day, you’re overwhelmed or stressed-out, go for a drive; clear your head; Throttle Out.
